SUNGAI BULOH, Dec 6 — Fifty families around Paya Jaras affected by the Covid-19 pandemic receives food items and face masks contribution today.
State executive councillor for human resource development Mohd Khairuddin Othman said the aid was given to individuals who lost their jobs, persons with different abilities (OKU), single mothers and ‘asnaf’, under the Rakan Muda Prihatin We Care programme.
He said the programme was held for the first time in conjunction with Malaysia Youth Volunteer Day 2020 and received cooperation from the Selangor Youth and Sports Department (JBS).
“We invited youths to help the needy families, I commend this initiative and hope more non-governmental organisations will join,” said Mohd Khairuddin who is also the assemblyman for the area.
Meanwhile, Selangor JBS director Hasnata Hasan appreciates the state government’s initiative in training youths to cultivate a caring and loving attitude towards volunteer work.
“This programme to some extent help in creating a generation of youths who love the country, society and themselves,” he said.
