Pelita restaurant employee in Shah Alam confirmed Covid-19 positive

SHAH ALAM, Dec 31 — A worker of the Pelita restaurant chain at its Plaza Masalam outlet in Shah Alam has tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday.

Pelita Samudra Pertama (M) Sdn Bhd in a statement yesterday said the outlet is now temporarily closed for close contact screening and sanitisation works.

It said that the closure only affects its Plaza Masalam outlet and does not affect its other branches.

“We have done our best in abiding by the stand operating procedure (SOP) and following the guidelines that have been issued by the Health Ministry.

“The safety of the customers and our staff is our priority. This is the first time we are facing such a situation and we will continue to cooperate with the Health Ministry to curb the pandemic,” the statement read.

The company had also apologised to its customers and had given the assurance that they would continue complying with the SOP.
