SHAH ALAM, Dec 6 — Applications for halal crew certification training via the Smart Selangor Technical and Professional Skills Initiative (Iktisass) are open until December 15.
The sponsorship offered by the Selangor government includes training fees, accommodation, meals as well as industry-recognised professional certificates.
According to its advertisement, participants will also receive subsistence allowances amounting to RM200 per month.
“Participants are guaranteed to get jobs at either Bangi Golf Resort, McDonald’s and Family Mart,” the advertisement stated.

Among the entry requirements are:
1. Applicants and parents are Malaysian citizens
2. Applicant or parents are born and residing in Selangor
3. Applicants residing more than 11 years in Selangor and confirmation from elected representatives, penghulu, JKKK chairman, village head, residents association chairman and other government recognised body
4. Applicant must have Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia and pass five core subjects including Bahasa Melayu
5. Applicants passed an interview conducted by the State Secretary Office, Human Resource Division (if applicable)
6. Candidates are encouraged to serve in Selangor institutions or industry
