SHAH ALAM, Dec 29 — The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj has to date contributed 2,080 books to the Raja Tun Uda Library in Section 13, here.
The Selangor Royal Office in a statement today said that the library is close to the heart of the Selangor Ruler since it was open to the public in 2011.
“His Royal Highness always keeps track of the library’s development and frequently contributes ideas to make it the people’s choice location to seek knowledge,” it said on Facebook.
Yesterday, Sultan Sharafuddin, who was accompanied by the Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah, paid an unofficial visit to the Raja Tun Uda Library, including to the fourth level of the building that houses the book collection contributed by His Royal Highness.
Throughout the visit, briefings related to the development of the library were conveyed to the Selangor Ruler by Selangor Public Library Corporation (PPAS) director Datin Paduka Mastura Muhamad.
Aside from Sultan Sharafuddin, the Selangor Royal household had contributed books and academic materials to the library.
As of November 2020, the library has recorded 7.34 million visitors with a total membership of 135,000 and 1.28 million units of borrowed books.
