SUNGAI BULOH, Dec 7 — Selangor will soon enact a youth movement law to allow the group to contribute their views on the state government’s policies and direction, says the state executive councillor for youth development.
Mohd Khairuddin Othman said the new law, called the Selangor Youth Movement Enactment, is being drafted and will be tabled in the next Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting.
“The enactment will include a congress that will be represented by the Selangor and federal youth association which will meet annually at the state assembly.
“Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah is expected to officiate it,” he said at the Rakan Muda Prihatin “We Care” programme in Paya Jaras, here yesterday.
Mohd Khairuddin added that the congress will be conceptualised similar to the youth parliament and the participants will be selected based on their leadership qualities and active participation in community programmes.
