14,000 benefited from Covid-19 community screening — Selcare

SHAH ALAM, Jan 8 — The Covid-19 community screening programme organised by the state government has benefited about 14,000 individuals throughout Selangor since its introduction in April last year.

Selcare Clinic Sdn Bhd manager Mohd Noor Md Nasir said the number is from the large-scale screening conducted in several red zone localities and its drive-thru service.

“It is estimated that between 7,000 to 8,000 individuals were screened through the antigen rapid test kit (RTK-Ag) method that was first used in early December last year in six locations.

“As a clinic owned by a state government subsidiary, Selgate Healthcare Sdn Bhd, we are proud to be given the trust to implement this initiative to ease the burden of the people,” he told the media during the Covid-19 Community Screening programme at Dewan Azalea, in Section 25 here yesterday.

Selangor government started the free Covid-19 test from April 11 last year to complement efforts implemented by the Health Ministry (MOH) and identify the risk groups, especially the elderly who do not show the symptoms.

On December 2 last year, the SELangkah Community Screening portal was launched to streamline the Covid-19 contact tracing and rapid screening process.
