SHAH ALAM, Jan 16 — Bandar Baru Klang assemblyman Dato’ Teng Chang Khim has started distributing food aid to 2,000 lower-income (B40) residents in the constituency in an effort to help the group.
Teng said the contribution valued at RM60,000 is given in stages today and next week.
“Recipients will receive dry food items such as rice, canned sardines, flour, sugar, biscuits, vermicelli and cooking oil.
“Today 1,000 distributions were made at Mawar, Cempaka, Dahlia, Pelangi Indah and Rebana Apartments, while next week it will be around Teluk Pulai, Batu Belah and Tepi Sungai,” he told SelangorKini.
According to him, the food aid was distributed by a special task force led by four councillors, namely Dr Quah Perng Fei, Low Kwee Sia, Halid Kaab and Gan Eu Eng.
“We hope this contribution will ease the burden of the recipients,” he said.
