Closure of Tabika Perpaduan kindergartens nationwide during MCO 2.0

PUTRAJAYA, Jan 19 — All Tabika Perpaduan kindergartens will be closed nationwide throughout the movement control order (MCO) 2.0 period following the recent rise in Covid-19 cases, said the National Unity Ministry.

The ministry, in a statement today, said the closure was in line with the announcement made by the Education Ministry (MOE) on January 16, as well as the decision by the Community Development Department (Kemas), which comes under the Rural Development Ministry on January 18.

To that effect, it said, effective tomorrow (January 20), all Tabika Perpaduan students  will follow home-based teaching and learning (PdPR) via the online platform.

“These measures are aimed at curbing the spread of the Covid-19 and to ensure the children’s early education learning sessions could proceed,” it said.

The MOE had announced that the face-to-face school sessions beginning tomorrow for the whole country would only involve students sitting for major examinations last year, while students in primary schools and those from Form 1 to Form 5 will follow PdPR according to the suitability of teachers and students.
