Covid-19: More than half of new cases in Selangor are from Klang

SHAH ALAM, Jan 7 — More than half of the 965 Covid-19 infections reported in Selangor yesterday was from Klang as the district registered 655 cases.

The Selangor State Health Department (JKNS) said 597 of the cases were found in Kapar sub-district (mukim) with 581 of it coming from health screening on workers, and the Klang sub-district  with 58 cases.

“Petaling became the second highest district with 139 cases from its sub-district in Bukit Raja (2), Damansara (131), Petaling (4) and Sungai Buloh (2).

“This is followed by the Hulu Langat district with 62 cases, from its sub-district in Kajang (26), Ampang (12), Semenyih (11), Cheras (8), Beranang and Hulu Langat (2) and one imported case from the Ivory Coast,” it said on Facebook yesterday.

The agency said a total of 40 cases were reported in Gombak district with 23 cases in the sub-district of Batu, Hulu Kelang and Setapak (6), Rawang (4) and Kuang (1).

It said, Kuala Langat district recorded 28 cases, with 15 in Tanjung Dua Belas, Telok Panglima Garang (11) and one case each in Jugra and Morib sub-districts.

“Kuala Selangor district recorded 22 cases in the sub-districts in Ijok(14), Jeram (7) and Batang Berjuntai (1).

“15 cases were reported in Sepang district with 10 in Dengkil, Labu (3) and Sepang (2) sub-districts.

“Hulu Selangor district recorded three cases in the Serendah sub-district, while Sabak Bernam district recorded one case in the Panchang Bedena sub-district,” it said.
