Exco: 10 Smart Selangor buses to ferry Covid-19 patients to MAEPS

SHAH ALAM, Jan 21 — The state government has arranged for ten Smart Selangor buses to ferry Covid-19 low-risk patients to the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park (MAEPS) in Serdang.

State executive councillor for public transportation said the selected buses to the Low Risk Treatment Centre (PKRC) will be used solely for the purpose and be frequently sanitised.

“We also received advice from the Health Ministry (MOH) and Selangor State Disaster Management Unit to ensure that the drivers transporting the patients to MAEPS will be guaranteed of their wellbeing and safety.

“We urge the public not to worry because the vehicles will not be used for other purposes or services,” Ng told SelangorKini.

He said the Selangor government is constantly working on various ways to combat the pandemic and hoped that the people will cooperate by complying with the standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Yesterday, Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced the Kita Selangor Package totaling RM73.877 million to reduce the people’s burden during the movement control order (MCO) through various initiatives.

The plan, among others, are ramped up efforts to fight the pandemic and resuscitation of the state’s economy including offering support to affected groups.
