PUCHONG, Jan 1 — A total of 45 new parking lots costing RM144,000 were built beside the Klinik Kesihatan Batu 14 here and completed in October 2020.
State executive councillor for new village development Ng Sze Han said the facility offered relief to visitors who faced parking problems whenever they visited the community clinic.
“I have been made to understand that before this, they had to park beside the main road because the parking at the clinic is always full. This was dangerous and led to traffic congestion.
“Therefore, I have taken steps of utilising this vacant site as a parking area to support the increasing number of visitors to the clinic daily,” said Ng during a visit to the new parking area at Batu 14 here yesterday.
Elaborating on whether the parking will be charged or not, Ng said the parking is only for light-weight vehicles and is free of charge.
Meanwhile, Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) councillor Thomas Low Yew Sin hoped visitors to the clinic would make use of the facility.
“I am thankful to Ng for helping out and supporting the construction of this parking area. Hopefully, after this, the public will not have to park beside the main road again because it is disrupting (the traffic), especially, when ambulances have to move in and out,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Klinik Kesihatan Puchong former panel chairman Datuk Dr J Kannan Raman suggested that a few parking lots be designated for people with disabilities (PwD) or senior citizens.
“Thank you for providing this facility. I suggest drivers carrying PwD patients or senior citizens can drop them off in front of the clinic first before parking their vehicles here (at the PwD designated lots),” he said.
