SHAH ALAM, Jan 14 — The public is urged to cooperate with the government by adhering to the standard operating procedure (SOP) so that Covid-19 transmission can be broken.

Selangor Investment, Industry and Trade, Small and Medium Industries Committee chairman Dato’ Teng Chang Khim said the enforcement of the movement control order (MCO) for the second time was the right move.

“However, I ask the public to work together to help the government to break the chain of infection. Do not assume we are immune to the virus and could not be infected.

“Love your life and the life of your loved ones by adhering to the SOP,” said Teng to SelangorKini.

Teng said the state administration is ready to work with the Federal government and hopes that the situation will be under control soon.

On Monday, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced the implementation of three phases of the MCO for a period of 14 days starting yesterday.

The MCO is enforced in Selangor, Penang, Federal Territories (Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan), Melaka, Johor and Sabah.

While the conditional MCO (CMCO) is enforced in Pahang, Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Terengganu and Kelantan and the recovery MCO (RMCO) involves Perlis and Sarawak.
