Selangor FC forges strategic cooperation with MBSA

SHAH ALAM, Jan 9 — Selangor FC has forged a strategic cooperation with the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) in an effort to strengthen football at grassroots level in the state.

Selangor FC, in a statement, said the cooperation between the Red Giants and MBSA, will see the channelling of expertise and other strategic partnerships, such as logistics and sports facilities.

“MBSA is one of the entities that strongly supports efforts to develop football in the state through the involvement of football teams that compete in state level leagues as well as football academies.

“MBSA also pays a lot of attention to the development of football at the grassroots level and will give positive impact on both parties,” it said.

The strategic cooperation between the two parties was sealed at a brief ceremony held at the FAS Training Center, near here, yesterday, where MBSA contributed RM500,000 as sponsorship to the Selangor FC for the 2021 season.

It was witnessed by the Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, who is Selangor FC chairman, and Shah Alam Mayor Datuk Haris Kasim.

Meanwhile, Selangor FC chief executive officer Dr Johan Kamal Hamidon, in the same statement, hoped that the strategic cooperation with MBSA would bring back the glorious days of the Red Giants, as well as for more corporate entities to come forward to contribute.

He thanked MBSA for the cash contribution, expertise and logistics, which he said, would further strengthen the Selangor team in their preparation for the 2021 season.

“This includes the elite team development programme under Selangor FC, especially after the team was privatised as a professional football team since last December,” he said.
