Selangor orders PBTs to check road conditions, act fast on complaints

SHAH ALAM, Jan 6 — All local authorities (PBTs) in the state have been instructed to monitor and check the conditions of roads in their respective areas.

State executive councillor for local government Ng Sze Han said the local councils are also urged to take swift actions on complaints from the public on road damages.

“The state government views the issue of damaged roads seriously. The public is welcome to lodge complaints to the PBTs.

“Road users are also advised to be careful at all times especially when it rains to avoid any untoward incidents,” said Ng through a statement yesterday.

In October last year, while tabling the 2021 Selangor Budget, Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari had announced RM170 million in allocation to the Public Work Department (JKR) to expand the road network and reduce distances between districts.
