Selangor registers 14,129 Covid-19 cases within two weeks

SHAH ALAM, Jan 25 — Selangor has recorded 14,129 Covid-19 cases from January 11 up to yesterday, says the Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC).

The state agency said that the Petaling district saw the highest number of cases registered within the last 14 days with a total 4,048 infections.

Other districts recording four-digit figure include Klang at 3,345, Hulu Langat (2,849), Sepang (1,163) and Gombak (1,035).

A total of 757 cases were recorded in Kuala Langat, Kuala Selangor (649), Hulu Selangor (202) and Sabak Bernam (81).

Selangor had registered 950 new infections yesterday with 323 involving existing clusters, 482 from close contact tracing, 144 from Covid-19 screening and one imported case.

This pushed the accumulated total in the state to 54,334 with 7,231 active cases.

A total of 3,346 new Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday nationwide, bringing the cumulative figure in the country to 183,801 and a registered 41,677 active cases.
