SHAH ALAM, Jan 3 — A total of 150 students from the Indian community who are pursuing their diploma and degree studies will get their study fees funded.

State executive councillor for socio-economic development and social welfare V Ganabatirau said students who will continue their studies at the higher education institutions (IPTs) recognised by the government will be selected from families whose household earnings are below RM2,000 a month.

“The Selangor government will make the full payment directly to the IPTs concerned to ensure that the assistance is not being misused.

“Overall, the assistance involves a total value of RM600,000,” Ganabatirau told SelangorKini today.

He said students pursuing their diploma education would receive RM3,000 and RM5,000 for degree students.

“The eligible students can apply and present their (college/university) offer letters,” he said.
