LZS distributes food packs to 1,250 hospital frontliners in Selangor

SHAH ALAM, Feb 12 — The Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) distributed food packs to 1,250 frontline staff at Sungai Buloh Hospital and Selayang Hospital, over a period of four weeks beginning Wednesday (February 10).

LZS chief executive officer Saipolyazan M Yusop said the contribution of food packs distributed every Monday, Wednesday and Friday was in appreciation of the sacrifices made by frontline hospital staff who have been working tirelessly to control the spread of Covid-19 since March last year.

He said, as many as six different menus were provided by LZS food truck entrepreneurs, which indirectly also helped these food operators generate income following the Covid-19 pandemic that has hit the country.

“The contribution aims to ease the burden on staff in getting food at night because of the implementation of the movement control order (MCO), hospital canteens and outdoor food premises only operate for a short time.

“The contribution of food packs during the four weeks also uses the amil allocation and will not affect other assistance especially that of the poor and needy recipients (asnaf),” he said in a statement, today.
