MB: Selangor provides opportunities, new hope post-pandemic

SHAH ALAM, Feb 23 — The state government remains committed to offering opportunities and new hope to those affected by Covid-19.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the effort was aimed at rebuilding confidence among the people to rise up to continue with their life post-pandemic.

“Therefore, the 2021 Selangor Budget focuses on efforts to create a dignified economy, we want to remind the people that there is still hope in rebuilding life.

“Selangor offers various initiatives not only for the underprivileged but also for the working class,” he said in a special interview in the ‘Kita Selangor: Gempur Covid-19’ magazine published by the Selangor Menteri Besar’s Office.

Amirudin said various initiatives had been implemented including upskilling and reskilling, as well as job matching through the Selangor Career Programme.

“We also expanded the business and economic opportunities through Selangor Raya e-bazaar Raya that targetted 3,000 traders but saw 6,000 participants.

“Besides that, an e-commerce channel, the Selangor Platform (Plats) is implemented to assist online sales as well as business training opportunities under the Selangor Information Technology and E-Commerce Council (Sitec),” he said.

The 2021 Selangor Budget focuses on five strategies — Selangor Digitalisation Agenda; Peaceful Selangor, Prosperous Ummah; Driving Value Creation and Developing Human Resource; Strengthen Sustainable Environment, Resources, and Food Security and Supply Chain; Revitalising Economic Recovery and Development of Industries.
