More Covid-19 assessment centres to open on weekends

SHAH ALAM, Feb 2 — Selangor State Health Department (JKNS) has updated the operating hours of several Covid-19 Assessment Centre (CAC) in the state.

The changes in the operating hours during weekends and public holidays involve almost all district health offices (PKD), except for Sabak Bernam, said the agency on Facebook today.

“If you are a positive Covid-19 patient undergoing treatment at home and experience any symptoms, please contact the CAC hotline. A Home Assessment Team will assist you.

“If your symptoms worsen, please call 999 emergency number or go to the nearest hospital,” said the department.

Selangor has 19 assessment centres that will determine a patient’s health level and identify those who are suitable to stay at home using the Home Assessment Tool (HAT).

Patients will be referred to the Covid-19 Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centre (PKRC) or hospital if categorised as level one and two but are not suited to be placed at home.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced on Saturday that the state is ready to increase the number of CAC in three high-risk districts to monitor patients infected by the coronavirus.
