Permission required to use ‘Selangor’ name in programmes

By Nadiah Zamlus

SHAH ALAM, Feb 23 — The state government has reminded any organisers to not simply use the name ‘Selangor’ in their programmes.

State executive councillor for youth and sports development Mohd Khairuddin Othman said the parties involved need to apply for written permission from the State Executive Council Meeting (MMKN).

“This issue had to be highlighted as there had been organisers that used the name ‘Selangor’ in their programmes. But what is more worrying is when they use the name to collect money as if it was organised by the state government.

“If the offence happened in any sporting events, the matter will be reported to the Sports Commissioner under the Youth and Sports Ministry,” he said when contacted by SelangorKini.

Yesterday, in a statement, Mohd Khairuddin said any entity that uses the name of the state government for organising any programmes can be taken stern action.
