PKR to hold virtual CNY celebration

SHAH ALAM, Feb 8 — Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) will hold a virtual Chinese New Year open house celebration on February 13.

Its programme director Sim Tze Tzin said the effort is to celebrate the Tiong Hua community who could not return to their hometown to be with their families due to Covid-19.

He said the event will be conducted via Zoom and Facebook Live starting 11am involving top party and state leaders.

“PKR as a multi-racial party still wants to maintain the tradition of celebrating festivals with friends in the new norm. We will showcase some performances and New Year’s speech from the central and state leadership,” he said in a statement today.

Among the leaders that will be involved include PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and wife Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as well as Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

The public can participate in the programme via the PKR Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/KeadilanRakyat/.
