SABAK BERNAM, Feb 25 — The targeted Covid-19 community screening continued today at the Sungai Besar Stadium with a focus on industrial workers around Sabak Bernam.

The free programme starting from 8am to 5pm also incorporates the Preventing and Detecting Outbreaks at Ignition Sites (POIS) system to prevent an outbreak.

Selcare Clinic Operations manager Mohd Noor Md Nasir targets the attendance of 1,500 participants with 400 people had registered as of noon.

“This time we are focusing on the industrial sector to prevent the spread of the virus among the workers, in fact, they can also bring their family members,” he said adding that there are 170 industrial companies operating in the district.

He explained that in this screening, the Social Security Organisation (Socso) also provided the rapid antigen test kit (RTK-Ag) for foreign workers who contributed to the fund.

Mohd Noor said all screening results will be informed through the SELangkah (Step in, safely) mobile application within 24 hours.

On January 20, the Selangor Government allocated RM6 million to continue the Covid-19 community screening for free throughout the state to curb the spread of the pandemic.

Previously, the same programme was held at Section 19 Hall, in Section 7 and Section 25, Shah Alam, at Pandamaran Jaya Multipurpose Hall in Klang and PJS 6 Community Hall in Petaling Jaya.
