SHAH ALAM, Feb 9 — Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has today revealed the newly developed SELangkah (Step In, Safely) mobile application (app) that enables the scanning of both the SELangkah and MySejahtera QR codes using one app.

The highlights of the app, which was presented by actress and singer Adibah Noor, include GPS entry registration, scan history, community screening portal, SELangkah Biz as well as SELangkah ID.

Amirudin in a virtual presentation of the app today said that SELangkah has set the benchmark for the new norm and that its functions were upgraded to go beyond a contact-tracing app.

“SELangkah is no longer just a contact-tracing app but it is now packed with features that ensure users’ safety even as they go about doing their daily chores since the enforcement of the first movement control order (MCO).

“Among the upgraded features already included are maps of affected premises, checks on exposure risk to Covid-19, visitors’ trend to a location as well as visitor log,” he said during the virtual launch of the SELangkah app.

Amirudin said SELangkah is the first contact-tracing app in the country which was introduced in May 2020 as a response by the state government to navigate the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The app has been in full compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) since the first day it started operating during the first MCO itself,” he said.
