SHAH ALAM, Feb 9 — The newly-upgraded state-developed contact-tracing system SELangkah (Step In, Safely) now enables users to enjoy a variety of services by the Selangor government via its single sign-on feature SELangkah ID.

In a virtual presentation of the new SELangkah app today, local actress and singer Adibah Noor said users can enjoy benefits from the app by opening up an account via SELangkah ID.

“With this digital identification function that provides a digital identity to users, they will soon be able to access various services from the state government.

“Users will be able to seamlessly pay their bills and summons, receive welfare aid from the state administration, and many more,” she said.

Adibah said aside from health features, the new SELangkah app also comes with commercial functions to assist those impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and spur the growth of the economy.

She said the commercial feature, known as SELangkah Biz, would enable traders to receive cashless payment from any e-wallet platforms.

“Soon, SELangkah will also have its own e-wallet called SELangkah Wallet. But aside from using the SELangkah e-wallet to do cashless transactions, it will also be used to channel welfare assistance by the state government,” she said.

Adibah said additional features also include the SELangkah Pay, where users can make easy payments of utility bills, taxes, and summons via one platform.

The newly-upgraded SELangkah app was launched by the Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari today and comes with various new features including dual-system scanning for both SELangkah and MySejahtera QR codes, maps with premises that were affected (by Covid-19), checks on exposure risk to Covid-19, visitors’ trend to a location as well as visitor log, among others.

In his opening address, Amirudin said the SELangkah app has been enhanced to respond more effectively and comprehensively to the situation surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic faced by the people.
