Selangor organises live virtual Chinese New Year celebration

SHAH ALAM, Feb 11 — The Selangor government is organising the 2021 Chinese New Year state-level celebration live via Facebook tomorrow, at 9pm.

The State Standing Committee on Non-Islamic Affairs co-chairman Dato’ Teng Chang Khim said the virtual Chinese New Year (CNY) celebration will be screened on the Facebook page of Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

“The celebration this year will be made more festive with a variety of performances from musical to Chinese cultural shows that are suitable for the viewership of all races.

“The state government is also organising the ‘Grab the Chance to Win Ang Pows’ worth RM10,000 campaign,” said Teng.

He said the campaign is only available on the Facebook pages of the Selangor Menteri Besar and Teng Chang Khim, where a total of 310 units of ang pow packets comprising between RM28 (150 ang pows) and RM168 (5 ang pows) are ready to be won by participants.

Teng said, in order to win the ang pows worth RM168, a draw will be held on the 15th, 30th, 45th and 60th minute into the live show and after the live broadcast ends.

The list of lucky winners will be announced on February 15.
