Selangor police cripple drug syndicate, seize drugs worth RM900,000

SHAH ALAM, Feb 8 — Police have crippled a drug smuggling and distribution syndicate after detaining two local and two foreign men in three raids in the Klang Valley on Wednesday (February 3).

Selangor acting police chief Datuk Arjunaidi Mohamed said they also seized various drugs worth RM900,750 and two cars during the raids, which were conducted in Puchong Jaya, Kuchai Lama and Cheras beginning from 4pm.

“We detained a local man and two foreigners in the first raid at a parking lot in Puchong.

“We found 13 Chinese tea packets containing a drug believed to be syabu weighing 13.39 kilogrammes (kg) worth RM602,550 and 13,900 ecstasy pills in 13 plastic packets valued at RM250,200.

“Further investigations led to the second raid on a house in Kuchai Lama. A local man was detained with 10 packets of heroin weighing 4.4 kg worth RM48,000,” he said at a press conference held online today.

However, no seizures or arrests were made in the raid on a house in Cheras.

Arjunaidi said the drugs were sourced from a neighbouring country and that, although the two locals dealt with the same supplier, they did not know one another.

He said further investigations found that the syndicate had been actively selling drugs in the Klang Valley since November, adding that the two local suspects, who had several drug-related offences, also tested positive for syabu.

“All the suspects, aged 44 to 60, have been remanded until Wednesday and investigation is being conducted under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.
