Selcare provides toys for children undergoing Covid-19 screening

PETALING JAYA, Feb 22 — Selcare has prepared toys for children undergoing the Covid-19 community to help them cope with fear when undergoing the swab test.

Its operations manager Mohd Noor Md Nasir said the initiative has been effective in helping medical officers carry out their testing on children.

“We have experienced dealing with children. Some cry because they are afraid and we find ways to solve the problem.

“Before or during the screening, we will give them the toy to distract their attention. They can bring it (the toy) home after that,” he said when met at the PJS 6 Community Hall in Petaling Jaya yesterday.

He said between 30 and 50 children aged 12 and below have undergone testing at the fourth Covid-19 community screening operation supported by the state government.

Overall, he said 532 individuals have been screened including frontliners from 9am to 4pm yesterday.

“We urge the residents to take the opportunity to go for the Covid-19 testing if it is being organised in their areas because this will be beneficial and it is free of charge,” he said.
