SHAH ALAM, Feb 14 — The Selangor government has reviewed the upgrading and renovation works of sports facilities in five districts, which were carried out throughout last year.

State executive councillor for sports development Mohd Khairuddin Othman said the upgrading works for facilities in Klang, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Sabak Bernam and Hulu Langat districts were in satisfactory condition.

“Altogether, 40 maintenance projects were successfully completed throughout the state with a total allocation of RM2.24 million to ensure that sports facilities are well maintained.

“Each constituency, under the supervision of either the local authorities or the Land and District Office, received RM40,000 in total funds for the execution of the purpose in their respective area,” he said when contacted by SelangorKini.

Meanwhile, visits to project sites in Sepang, Hulu Selangor, Kuala Selangor and Gombak will be held soon.

“We hope the public will use the facilities properly and take good care of them as best as possible for the benefit of all,” he said.

The Paya Jaras state assemblyman also said inspection will be done at sports facilities that require the state government’s attention.

Prior to this, Mohd Khairuddin said Selangor aims to ensure that (sports) facilities (in the state) are in good condition in line with its aspiration to make the sports culture thrive among its society.

He said the district-level sports facilities will be improved from time to time in line with the state’s mission of becoming a smart state by 2025.
