Two futsal premises owners among 30 compounded for flouting MCO SOP

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 28 — Out of sheer obstinacy and taking lightly the movement control order (MCO) resulted in 30 people including the owners of two futsal premises being issued compounds in Gombak here, yesterday.

Gombak district police chief, ACP Arifai Tarawe said all of them were found to have failed to observe the standard operating procedures (SOP) of the MCO, namely, physical distancing and activities which were still not allowed in the sports and recreational sector.

He said a group of individuals were found playing futsal in the premises and not complying with the SOP of MCO after an inspection was conducted on the premises at 9.30 pm on public complaints.

‘’Subsequently, compounds were issued against them including the owners of the premises,’’ he told Bernama.

Yesterday, the video of a group of men playing futsal during the MCO went viral on social media while netizens questioned their actions.
