VJ Emergency’s murder case mention reset for March 2

SEPANG, Feb 8 — The Magistrate’s Court here set March 2 as the new case mention date for local Indian artiste known as VJ Emergency, charged with murdering a site engineer last October.

Counsel Datuk Sheelan Arjunan, representing the accused whose real name is P Vijayan, when contacted, said the date was fixed by magistrate Ayuni Izzaty Sulaiman when the case came up for mention today.

Sheelan said the defence team had so far received the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) report but not yet the post-mortem, chemical and forensic reports.

Vijayan, 43, who is a property manager, is accused of killing K Seri Ganis Kanapathy Pillay, 42, at an area next to Jalan Airport City 2, Airport Business Centre, Kota Warisan, here, between 2.38am and 4.50am on Oct 28.

Vijayan was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries a mandatory death sentence if found guilty.

Deputy public prosecutor, Nasharina Nazlan prosecuted in the case.

The media had on October 28, reported the discovery of the charred remains of a man in a torched sports utility vehicle (SUV) in Kota Warisan.
