SHAH ALAM, March 19 — Sungai Kandis state constituency has allocated RM50,000 to assist groups severely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic especially those from low-income households throughout the year.

Its state assemblyman Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni said the basic food aid is provided to ensure that the residents’ food supply is not disrupted.

“The amount benefits 3,000 receipients including migrants from other states residing in Sungai Kandis state constituency.

“The contribution is done via various channels including through the village chief as well as (local) council members. This would ensure that the contribution reaches the targeted groups,” he said during the launching ceremony of ‘Buku Arif Belanja 2021’ (2021 Wise Spending Book) at the Selangor State Secretariat Building yesterday.

He said the assistance would also be continued during the month of Ramadan to enable the underprivileged groups to be fully prepared.

“We will pay them a visit and ensure that this group will be able to celebrate the fasting month properly,” he said.
