3,794 individuals registered on Selangor Kerjaya job search portal

SHAH ALAM, March 8 — A total of 3,794 individuals have registered with the state-developed job search portal Selangor Kerjaya as of February 26.

Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI) chief executive officer Norita Mohd Sidek said a total of 2,781 were individuals who were retrenched, including jobless graduates, while 1,013 others are still employed.

“A total of 3,598 of the applicants are university graduates and the rest are Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia dan Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia qualification holders.

“Our records show that 80 individuals were selected to attend online and physical interviews, whereby 38 of them were hired  in various job sectors,” Norita told SelangorKini.

Norita added that 1,384 vacant positions were offered by 32 employers registered with Selangor Kerjaya.

The www.selangorkerjaya.com.my website was launched by Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari on January 26 to address unemployment issues over the short and long terms.

The Selangor Kerjaya service offers relevant information on the job market for job seekers and grants employers access to the local talent market to help them find the right candidates to fill in the job vacancies.
