SHAH ALAM, March 31 Nearly 60 per cent of the state’s firefighters who had registered for the Covid-19 vaccine have received their first dose.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) director Norazam Khamis said it involves 979 out of the 1,642 firefighters who had consented to receive the immunisation.

“Meanwhile 42 firefighters have completed the full vaccination regimen after receiving the second dose. We expect all firefighters to complete receiving the first dose soon,” he told SelangorKini today.

According to him, there are firefighters who did not register in the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme due to health issues and allergy to drugs.

Meanwhile, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah through his Facebook informed that as of yesterday a total of 85,848 first and second dose vaccination were given out to individuals in Selangor.

He added that as of yesterday, Selangor recorded the highest number of registrations for the national immunisation programme with more than two million or 42.09 per cent.
