Air Selangor: Piping works in Shah Alam to complete on schedule

SHAH ALAM, March 30 — The scheduled pipe diversion and connection works near the Carlsberg brewery at Persiaran Selangor in Section 15, here, are expected to complete on schedule at 9pm tonight.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) in a statement today said a total of 15 water takers will be mobilised to 31 areas affected by the water cut, with priority given to critical premises which include hospitals and dialysis centres as well as funeral ceremonies.

“Water supply will be distributed once all the work on-ground is completed and the recovery process
will be in stages.

“The duration of the disruption and the water supply recovery of the affected areas differ according to the water supply quantity, the distance of consumers’ premises and the water pressure at the distribution system,” its Corporate Communications head Elina Baseri said in the statement, adding that water supply is expected to fully recover at 9am on Thursday.

On March 24, Air Selangor had issued a statement on the scheduled maintenance works, which had started according to plan at 9am this morning.

The piping works would cause five areas in Petaling, 14 areas in Klang and 12 areas in Shah Alam to experience water supply disruption.
