Bridging digital divide, 100 residents in Kinrara receive laptops

By Norrasyidah Arshad

SHAH ALAM, March 24 — Kinrara state assemblyman Ng Sze Han has distributed 100 laptops to the residents in his constituency as a measure to bridge the digitalisation gap.

He said the assistance prioritised low-income families (B40) to facilitate the children’s learning.

“A total of 500 applications were received but so far only 100 families are eligible for the assistance.

“We will visit the homes of the applicants to conduct further observation. This is one of the methods to ensure that the target group receives benefits,’ he told SelangorKini today.

Meanwhile, Ng said that the Dapur Kinrara programme introduced last year had received encouraging response.

He said his team had prioritised the programme as it gave greater benefits to residents.

“Every Sunday from 12 noon to 2pm we distribute free lunch to the needy and last week we provided more than 200 packs,” he said.
