SHAH ALAM, March 23 — The Selangor e-kitchen programme will resume this year with a different approach to assist traders in generating income during the month of Ramadan.
State executive councillor for entrepreneur development Rodziah Ismail said the implementation will be improved in tandem with the Covid-19 situation which would also involve the cooperation from local authorities.
“Before this, the traders will gather at the central kitchen but this time around, we will request local authorities to enlist five selected F&B premises to take part in the programme.
“The traders will also be assisted by Hijrah Selangor (Hijrah) and Selangor Digital e-Supply Chain (Seldec) to improve their businesses,” Rodziah said when contacted.
On March 6, Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the Selangor e-kitchen programme brings immense benefit to traders and will be continued throughout, without limiting its operation to the month of Ramadan.
Amirudin explained that the Ramadan bazar this year will also depend on the current situation with the strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) in place.
The programme is among the state’s digitalisation initiatives since April last year that aimed to assist entrepreneurs in sustaining their business online and expanding their market access.
Through collaboration between Grab and Platform Selangor (Plats), the programme had assisted 133 entrepreneurs amass a total sales of RM1.5 million.
