SHAH ALAM, March 16 — The Kuala Kubu Bharu state representative office has allocated more than RM70,000 to distribute 2,147 food baskets to groups affected by the Covid-19 outbreak.

Its assemblyman Lee Kee Hiong said the contributions, which were distributed beginning February, focus on low-income families and residents of community rehabilitation centres.

“Hopefully, this contribution will ease their burden. We will ensure that the people’s needs stay adequate and guaranteed from time to time,” she said when contacted.

Lee said computers were also donated to tahfiz school students to facilitate their online learning sessions.

The Kita Selangor Package had allocated RM100,000 to each state constituency and RM50,000 for parliamentary representatives to implement the Mesra Rakyat programme.

The programme includes the immediate distribution of basic food supplies such as rice, cooking oil, flour and canned food.
