MBI allocates RM5 mln for CSR through Kita Selangor Package

KUALA LANGAT, March 22 — The Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI) allocates RM5 million for corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities through the Kita Selangor Package.

Its chief executive officer Norita Mohd Sidek said out of the total amount, RM600,000 is allocated for food baskets for the Orang Asli community.

“A total of 74 Orang Asli villages in 22 state constituencies, involving 6,500 families, have received the aid,” she said when met during the handing over ceremony of food baskets to the people of Kampung Asli Sungai Bumbun, here yesterday.

She said the programme, which was also attended by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, saw the distribution of 159 food baskets to 159 families.

Meanwhile, Norita said the state agency is also planning to carry out several programmes ahead of Ramadan, which will be announced in the near future.

The RM5 million in allocation to the Kita Selangor Package include food assistance to the frontline workers, tablets for the use of frontliners stationed at the Low-Risk Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centre (PKRC) at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) in Serdang as well as the initiative held for the children of the frontline staff.
