My Own Brand fined for possession of MOH unregistered products

PETALING JAYA, March 17 — A health product company was fined a total of RM12,000 by the Magistrate’s Court here today for three counts of selling unregistered products and possession of products without notification from the Health Ministry.

Magistrate M. Bharath meted out the fine on My Own Brand Sdn Bhd after its representative, Azrul Ezulhisham Bistamam, who is a director of the company, pleaded guilty to all the charges.

The company was fined RM6,000, RM3,000 and RM3,000, for the first to the third charge, respectively.

On the first count, My Own Brand was charged with possession of the unregistered product, by the name of “Soloco” for men ‘, which is a violation of Regulation 7 (1) (a) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Control Regulations 1984.

For the second and third charge, the company was charged with possessing two types of beauty products, namely ‘Renew 27 Cosmetics Cleanser’ and ‘Renew 27 Cosmetics Day Cream’ without notifications from the Health Ministry, which is an offence under Regulation 18A (1) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Control Regulations 1984.

All the offences were committed at a premise at Jalan PJU 3/43, Sunway Damansara Technology Park, here at 9.30am on July 14, 2019.
