SEKINCHAN, March 24 — A total of 288 councillors from 12 local councils in Selangor are mobilised in an effort to raise public awareness on the importance of the Covid-19 vaccine.

State executive councillor for local government Ng Sze Han said the group would go to focal locations, such as the morning and night markets, to help the community on the vaccine registration process.

“We have also instructed members of the Village Community Management Council (MPKK) to do the same. So far the response has been very encouraging.

“People who do not know how to register, especially senior citizens, will be helped to register either through MySejahtera, via online or through the toll-free number,” he said when met after the grant handover programme here yesterday.

Meanwhile, Ng had called on the community to register for the vaccine so that the daily routines can return back to normal.

“These two doses of vaccines are not just to protect yourself but your family and the community.

“I ask everyone to do it immediately. There are no side effects and only slight soreness at
the injection site,” he said.
