Selangor reps to assist public in registering for Covid-19 vaccine

SHAH ALAM, March 17 — Selangor state assemblymen are always prepared to help the people, especially senior citizens, to register for the Covid-19 vaccination.

Kota Anggerik representative Najwan Halimi said the effort is to make it easier for the residents, many of whom have yet to register, and raise their awareness towards the importance of receiving the vaccine in the effort to curb the spread of the pandemic.

“I have contacted the residents’ associations, committees as well as the mosque management to work together to help the public participate in the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.

“It is crucial for us to ensure that our family and community are registered to receive the vaccine,” said Najwan when contacted today.

Meanwhile, Rawang state assemblyman Chua Wei Kiat has also taken the same initiative and will spearhead a vaccine awareness campaign at the markets as well as suburban areas in Rawang soon.

“As for the anti-vaccine group, I urge them to not believe in false news because this is causing them to be apprehensive about receiving the vaccine.

“The decision to reject immunisation will only put themselves and the people around them at high risk of contracting Covid-19,” Chua said.

Recently, Coordinating Minister for National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme Khairy Jamaluddin said an estimated 1.4 million individuals have not completed the registration process on the MySejahtera app.

He said they had only filled in their names and identity card (IC) numbers to receive the vaccine injection but failed to answer the health evaluation questions and provide their complete current addresses.
