Selangor Sultan happy with new Kapar hospital approval

SHAH ALAM, March 31 — The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, expressed his happiness with the approval of the construction of a public hospital in the Kapar district by the federal government.

Sultan Sharafuddin was informed of this matter when he granted an audience to Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba at Istana Bukit Kayangan, Shah Alam on Monday.

Also present was Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah.

Health Ministry secretary-general, Datuk Mohd Shafiq Abdullah, and state Health director, Datuk Dr Sha’ari Ngadiman, were also present.

According to a post on the Selangor Royal Office Facebook account, the plan to build the hospital has long been made to accommodate the significant increase in the number of patients in Selangor, especially at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, Klang.

“His Royal Highness also suggested that the federal government to focus on upgrading public hospitals in rural areas so that the people can get better health services and treatment,” the statement read.

At the audience, Sultan Sharafuddin was also briefed on the current situation in government public hospitals, in dealing with cases related to the Covid-19 pandemic.

He once again called on the people to get vaccinated according to the schedule set by the government, and would not hesitate, despite having to receive the shots in the month of Ramadan.

He also stressed that the people must continue to maintain the standard operating procedures (SOPs) that have been set and get used to living their daily lives according to the new norms in order to stop the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
