Selcare plans nighttime Covid-19 screening during Ramadan

By Zareef Muzammil

KAJANG, March 28 — Selangor-owned Selcare Clinic plans to conduct the free Covid-19 community screening programme at night throughout the month of Ramadan.

Its manager Mohd Noor Md Nasir said the matter will be decided in a meeting with the Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC) soon.

“We have to discuss further on whether to continue testing or to take a break. If we want to continue with it, then we need to conduct it (screening) at a suitable time and it could be during the night.

“If screening is done at night, it will depend on the current situation seeing that tarawih prayers at the mosques and suraus are already allowed, so we have to consider whether the public can come out for Covid-19 screening or otherwise,” he said during the free screening programme at Jalan Medan Belimbing, Seri Kembangan yesterday.

Meanwhile, Mohd Noor informed the attendance of the local communities including industry workers for the screening programme had reached 150 participants as of 12pm yesterday.

“Even though it started at 9am, people already started queuing up as early as 8am to undergo screening and this proves that the awareness of the local residents here is high.

“On top of that, they were already prepared by pre-registering their details through the SELangkah (Step In Safely) app thus helping to speed up the screening process,” he said.
