SHAH ALAM, March 16 — Shah Alam Mayor Dato’ Haris Kasim has been appointed as the new state finance officer.

This was confirmed on the official Facebook page of the Selangor State Secretary’s Office yesterday.

“The Selangor government congratulates Dato’ Haris Kasim on his appointment as the Selangor state finance officer,” it wrote.

Haris’ appointment was to replace Dato’ Nor Azmie Diron, who was appointed as the state secretary effective February 3.

Prior to being the Shah Alam mayor, Haris was the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) director in January 2015 and was also a Hulu Langat district officer.

Among his previous posts include Kuala Selangor District Council president from 2005 to 2011; district officer of Hulu Langat District and Land Office (2011); and district officer of the Sepang District and Land Office (2012 to 2014).
