Suicide bomb attack outside church in Indonesia’s Makassar, 14 injured

JAKARTA, March 28 — Two suspected suicide bombers blew themselves up outside the entrance of the Cathedral Church in Makassar, southern Sulawesi today, injuring 14 people so far.

However, as of 12.30pm (western Indonesian time), Indonesian police had not yet confirmed the number of people killed in the incident that occurred at 10.20am (central Indonesian time).

According to the national police Public Relations Division chief, Argo Yuwono, both suspects who were on a motorcycle, tried to enter the church grounds before being stopped by a security guard.

“Then there was an explosion and police are still investigating the number of people killed in the incident,” he said at a press conference here.

The blast also hit several road users who were passing through the area.

Based on the video that went viral on social media, several parts of human body were found scattered at the location.
