Two policemen among four nabbed for robbing 24-hour store in PJ

KUALA LUMPUR, March 17 — A local woman wearing a police vest has been reported to have robbed a 24-hour store in Kelana Jaya said Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal.

Nik Ezanee said in a statement yesterday, in the 7am incident on Monday in the SS6 area, the woman took several items in the store without paying.

The store worker, a 41-year-old local woman asked her to pay but the suspect said her superior officer would come to pay for the items within one hour after which she fled in a Honda Civic police patrol car.

Among the items she took were five packs of cigarettes of various brands, a lighter and sweets estimated to worth RM146.30, he added.

Nik Ezanee said following the incident two police personnel were detained – a 38-year-old suspect was nabbed at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters at 5pm on Monday and another suspect aged 31 was also detained.

The police also arrested a local woman and man, aged 36 and 27 respectively at 8.30pm on Monday believed to be involved in the incident, he said.

Ezanee said a police check revealed that the woman had a record of seven criminal cases and one involving drugs while the man had five criminal cases and eight drug cases.
