SHAH ALAM, March 15 — The weekly figure of Covid-19 cases in Selangor has seen a continuous drop for five consecutive weeks since early February, says the Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC).

The task force said that in the first week of February (February 6 to 12), a total of 9,198 accumulated number of Covid-19 cases were recorded, which dropped to 8,031 from February 13 to 19.

From February 20 to 26, the cumulative weekly figure was at 5,591, followed by a total of 4,965 cases (February 27 to March 5), and 4,786 (March 6 to 12).

“Selangor has seen a drop in weekly accumulated cases for five consecutive weeks. This is a very good sign to get the state back to being free from the Covid-19 infection,” said the task force in a statement on Twitter today.

However, the STFC had reminded the people that the drop in cases does not mean the people should ease up in adhering to the set standard operating procedure (SOP)

“We have a long way to go, compliance with the SOP is very important. At the same time, the Selangor people are encouraged to participate in the free Covid-19 screening operations provided by the state government,” it added.
