85,000 Peduli Sihat cardholders to receive state purchased vaccines — MB

SHAH ALAM, April 23 — A total of 85,000 Peduli Sihat cardholders will receive the Covid-19 vaccines purchased by the Selangor government.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amiruddin Shari said they are among the target groups for the distribution of vaccines which is expected to arrive middle of this year.

“The Peduli Sihat cardholders recipients data shows there are close to 85,000 people in this group.

“We also focus on the economic angle involving factories, construction… if we wait, it may take a long time because the economy needs to move,” he after attending the Mahabbah Ramadan ceremony with civil servants at the Jubli Perak hall here today.

The state government plans to buy between three to five million doses of vaccines to curb the spread of the pandemic and meet the needs of locals.

On March 18, the Selangor government approved the allocation of at least RM100 million for the purchase of Covid-19 vaccines.

Selangor is expected to get the vaccines in May or June this year, which will help speed up the process of the national vaccination programme.
