Collaboration with various agencies boost human capital development

SHAH ALAM, April 29 — The Selangor government welcomes the collaboration between public and private agencies as well as non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in developing human capital through the state education sector.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’s Seri Amirudin Shari said the synergy by the relevant parties through the sharing of smart ideas could maximize the quality of education in the state.

“The human empowerment agenda is an ongoing effort and would not succeed if there is no cooperation from various parties.

“We realise the importance of developing the education sector, especially in moving towards the 2025 smart state vision,” said Amirudin at the signing ceremony of the collaboration in conjunction with the Selangor Foundation’s 50th anniversary held at the official residence of the Dato’ Menteri Besar, here yesterday.

Also present were Selangor Foundation chief executive officer Eddie Ahmad Khodzali and its senior director (education) Zahura Zakry.

Meanwhile, Amirudin who is also Selangor Foundation Board of Trustee chairman, said the proposed new educational programme in collaboration with various agencies would also boost the foundation’s future performance.

“They have made a paradigm shift by thinking out of the box and share resources to ensure that the state’s objective in education development would be diversified,” he said.

Meanwhile, during the event, Amirudin had also launched the Selangor Foundation’s Education Policy handbook.

Zahura said the handbook contains the policies related to student affairs, funding and hostels under the foundation.

“We are capable of handling all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and this handbook reflects our long-term experience in the education field.

“In fact, it was compiled according to the national policy handbook but went through a thorough work process with integrity,” she said.

Zahura said each policy-making process needs to be endorsed by a specific body and the 200-paged handbook covers three sections that will be updated in the future to include new and existing policies including work processes.
