Man dies in mishap involving four vehicles

KUALA LUMPUR, April 8 — A man was killed when he was thrown out of his car in a crash involving four vehicles at Kilometre 32 of Kuala Lumpur-Ipoh road, at Sungai Choh near Rawang early this morning.

The victim, S Rajkumar, 25, who was driving a Perodua Kancil, was believed to have hit the rear tyre of an oncoming lorry in the 6.20am incident.

Hulu Selangor district police deputy chief, DSP Ridzuan Khalid said the impact threw the victim, who worked as a lorry driver, out of his car which overturned and crushed into Perodua Alza driven by a 23-year-old student.

‘’A woman driving a Proton Wira failed to avoid hitting the victim who fell in front of her vehicle.

‘’The man died at the scene and his body was taken to the Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital for a post-mortem,’’ he said in a statement today.

Ridzuan said the lorry driver, 28 and the woman driver in her 30s, were unhurt while the student sustained a slight injury on her finger.

He said the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) Road Transport Act 1987.
